SUPER DETOUR AUGURY is an installation of ritualistic distortion. It is an obscured landscape of rurality in which you are welcome to feel at home. Layers of experiences and connotations conjure themes of agency, alternative hallucinatory realities, and collective joy. Warped and experimental objects channel an immense past; an Armenian wine cave, Siljan’s meteorite, and beyond.

The exhibition uses two different locations as starting points. First, Areni-1 is a cave system in Armenia where the oldest site for organised wine making has been found, dating back 6100 years. Secondly, Siljansringen is a formation of lakes located in Dalarna, Sweden, formed by a meteorite impacting approximately 380 million years ago. Together, the sites create a speculative timeline consisting of mysticism, microorganisms and locality from which the installation has taken form.

A social and communal aspect is core to the exhibition, utilising forty bottles of home made fruit and flower wine to connect the guests with the sculptures. Using hosting as a performative action, a costume is worn by the artist throughout the duration of the exhibition. The two piece garment dyed work suit brings together references from Dalarna folk dress and workwear alongside intuitive technical inquiry, and was designed and made by Karin Tokunaga.

Jens Masimov (b. 1993, Hedemora, Sweden) is a multimedia artist based in Stockholm. Through immersive installations he explores the personal and universal within a framework of ritualistic distortion.
