“Zuckerschock!” 2016 exhibition map
Zuckerschock! brings New York and Berlin-based artists
together in a convenience store. The New York bodega, the Berlin Späti, there
for you in the most desperate of times. The show is running concurrently with
Berlin Gallery Weekend, at P71 Late Shop on Potsdamer Strasse.
sugar shock: that feeling you get when you can't
exactly feel your toes, your head is tingling, your hands are shaking, tongue
turned to jelly. You're talking a mile a minute but really you've returned to
the preadolescent state of absolute chaos; you're whining, you're running
around in circles, you're freaking the fuck out, you want more, you need more.
So many stimulants available over-the-counter,
under-the-counter, from your dealer (harder, better, faster, stronger, no
slowing down, fuck everyone else), but let’s be real: why don’t you just down
that bag of M&Ms with your Monster and top it off with Haribo Gummibärchen.

SORRY is a series of exhibitions produced by alter egos. It is a multi-faced project that disintegrates and re-congeals after each show: a way to create and then demolish new personalities, aesthetics, and strategies.
SORRY ARCHIVE will continually collect and catalog the products of these events.
Elena Poughia is a young writer and independent curator with an interdisciplinary background who is based in between Athens and Berlin. Co-Curator of Sound Acts, a Festival about sound, performance and identity that takes place in Athens, Greece and publisher of DIALOGOS, a zine which nourishes cross-field collaborations and discussions between artists and curators. She often curates nomadic, time-based, ephemeral, happenings namely in Athens and London. Particularly interested in sound art, counter-cultural communities, issues of transcendence and feminist cyborg theory.
