Christian García Bello / Pongo mi pie desnudo en el umbral
Pongo mi pie desnudo en el umbral —translated to English as “I put my barefoot on the threshold”— is a project with three layers: a short story written by the artist, the exhibition device itself, and a collaboration with the artist María Roja through specific performance.
This exhibition is presented as a collection of fragmented and overlapping points of view based on a short story about the travel diaries of Dirse, a woman who made a pilgrimage from Antwerp (Flanders, BE) to A Guarda (Galicia, ES), sometime between the 16th and 17th centuries, and who spent her last days on Mount Santa Trega, looking at the river mouth of the Miño, the natural and watery threshold that separates Galicia from Portugal.
