  1. I am proud my motherland could achieve a society such that they speak honestly and generously of this topic with children. We in the US could learn a lesson.

    2. Why don't you go back to your mother land? In case you forgot, Hitler killed and destroyed all "non pure, less than perfect" people in Germany and even beyond Germany. Are you telling me that Hitler "clean up" German race from imperfections, like dark skin tone and homosexuals in general during Hitler's ruling, just to be punish with more homosexuals? Omg, history repeat itself! What Hitler tried to destroy, came back to him as a nightmares, more homosexuals!!! Hahaha, the irony is in the story itself. Hitler try to destroy anyone being "not good enough", and now Germans are destroying themselves by not being able to produce children (you do know homos can't birth children, right). So the punishment found Germans, after all this year's, the blood is still on their hands, and that's nothing to be be proud of. Now they rely on foreigners for populations growth, white, prefect Germans are just dying off. Now, that's punishment no one could of predict!!! I'm glad, no one ever go unpunished, I'm glad universe works the same as always, what goes around, comes around! Instead of getting big, strong man to protect Germany and to serve, Hitler got bunch of big guys that wants to wear tights, even some 70 years later I can't stop laughing, ok!?

    5. Germany has really manned up to their faults in the past. As a Jew of German decent living in America, I am proud of my Jewish ancestry, my German stance, and my American ancestry. Everyone has made mistakes in the pst. Forgiveness is what counts. The Germans were desperately poor and starving because they had to pay for a war they did not start. Hitler took advantage of them manipulated them, and we know that. Most every German feels bad about WWII. Germany has taken responsibility for the actions of their fathers, what has the U.S. done about Panama? Philippines? All governments do things that normally their people wouldn't approve of. But sometimes it is behind closed doors, sometimes it is because the people are desperate.

    6. I'm 1/4 german jew, grandfather fought in Namibia against the germans, and I have nothing but respect for the germans. Regardless of the war, mistakes were made, but germans kick ass. Look at the american list of atrocities (agent orange, napalm etc.) If it wasn't for the jewish community making such a big fuss about the genocide it would be a foot note in history. I am not saying it wasn't wrong, I am saying that there was a lot worse done in the name of war and that has gone by with nary a word. What about the rest of the mass murders? The ThatTexanTeen, just read your post before posting this, cannot agree with you more. The only country that I am aware of who has paid as much contrition about WW2 is Japan.

    7. Poor smarty, so full of hate. Somebody should give the guy/girl a hug, he/she clearly needs one.

  2. Translations leave a little to be desired. Example, Wochenende means 'Weekends' not 'holidays', does not change the meaning of the story but is still not 100% 'correct'

    1. You're 100% correct. As I understand it, the possessive form "sein Freund" typically implies boyfriend over just friend.

  8. Ironically the closed minded individual spewing hate is called smarty? Smart or intelligence should never be associated with you. Who are you to impose your views and determine who is allowed and not allowed to love each other? I'm a heterosexual man married almost 10 years and I'm all for people being able to love whoever they wish. Individuals like you are the reason this book will not be published in the u.s for the next 50 years. And that's a damn shame! So you're entitled to judge because you read a FICTIONAL book (bible)? Be real!!! Get with the times or get out of the way. In all honesty you come accross like a bigot and an imbecile.

    1. Leo, don't appreciate your calling the bible fictional, but I do certainly agree with your point. Smarty is anything but smart for sure. Neither the bible nor Christianity came up in Smarty's post, so I'm not sure where you even got that from. While there are a lot of Christians that are against homosexuality there are some who stand by the fact that the OT rule is null and void due to the cross. Personally I am a Christian in support the gay marriage movement. However this is mostly because I'm also a libertarian who believes that marriage should not be controlled by the government in any way other than to say that all involved parties must be making the commitment of their own free will.

    2. While I personally have no opinion about homosexuals or same sex relationships, and to add to that I am an atheist, I would like to point out that the bible (christianity and islam) are seriously against same sex relationships. I am not sure what version your are reading but it's clearly not the orthodox version. I would also like to point out that it's counter productive to the continuation of the human species, but since that seems to actually be a problem at the moment (we are breeding to much) I say go for it.
